well, went to pick up the filler cap from VW, the fella came out of the stores with an oil filler cap!!! idiots...

Anyway, got a new rubber gasket and though it was all sorted, but this morning on the way to work I could smell petrol again and sure enough, it's still leaking!!!

The fuel caps have a habit of failing even if they look ok - its worthwhile getting a new one from GSF or similar. Had a quick look on eBay and can get them for about a tenner, just called my local main dealer and genuine VW part only £7.50! it's now a plastic one though, no longer metal, but if it...

Just done a 400mile round trip in my 1994 1043cc polo and got 42mph. very pleased, but i usually average 35mph ish, my wife's 1991 1043cc gets about 32mph. could be the higher miles on her car, or the way she drives it...

The clutch peddle on my wife's mk3 1l CL is very heavy and sometimes really difficult to get into gear. With it being so stiff you get very little feedback from the clutch/bite point, but the clutch it's self seems fine, it isn't slipping.

anyone got any ideas?
