the tapping could be something to do with oil. have you got enough in? have you put too much in lol?? its your tappets wich normally tick when you run out of oil. thats all i know m8.

just make sure it is that. cus mine did the exact same thing. butttt. it wasnt the headgasket! have you changed your air filter? cus i changed mine and all i needed to do was take that breather filter off the oil pipe. run sum of that enginee flush throo it and new oil filter. good grade oil. sorted...

my lambda setting goes near the bottom. its hard to explain but dead simple. you have to extent the cable on the lambda swith thow so its not dead easy. ill take a picture of mine for ya. to be honest i wouldnt expect a lot of performance increase eitha. its just worth the sound
