is there any other way to derestict the air box other than drilling it and a panel filter?

i raced my mates 8 valve gti mk2 and it was similar upto about 60 i pulled away from him in 1 and second then in third he started to pull away. Don't know how you beat a gti mate, was he flooring it.

Does anyone know where i acn get hold of the plastic bits which stick to the gt rubbing strips. As i melted mine when i took them off and now i want them back on. How much roughly are they?

That quote is upto 10,000 miles with an excess of 120. Norwich union said they wouldn't insure me untill i was 21 but when i took out a policy with them on the gt after a month of being with them i phoned up and asked again and they said it was fine. Worth looking into.

I got a quote for insurance of 950 thrid party with norwich union for a g40 and only 18, just 230 pund more than the gt.

If i had a g40 would he smoke me then?

What is a gt like compared to a mk2 8v gti, as my mate has just bought one. Will he completely smoke me?
