Just want to say how sweet James UK's twin-tail pipes look. Never seen that on a mk3 polo before, and damn it looks smart.

Oh and the colour-coded bumpers aren't half bad too!!!

I knew you would sort it mate! Just goes to show how it can be little things like a breakdown in one of the leads which can cause major problems! Right from the start it sounded too familar to my problem. Glad you tried the leads before you went out and spent more precious £££.

I know it could be completely different to my problem, but everything you describe happened to me. Even down to the colour of my spark plugs! The dizzy looked a bit shagged on mine too. (still haven't replaced it yet - oops!) Ive now got an induction kit from a mk3 golf with K&N etc, but I did e...

Right, iam pretty sure you were describing the same problem I had with my car not so long ago. Change the leads. Thats all i did, oh and the spark plugs. Runs much better now, it did seem much worse at the time, it got progressively worse until i broke down 4 times on the way to college. The idle wa...

I managed to find some of the mk3 golf bits at my scrappy. Thought id give it a go. Got to give it to you, my car never sounded so sweet, and with an aluminium heat shield i created, it looks the part under the engine bay. Also my K&N air filter was free so that kinda swayed me into doing it mys...

The company who did my tints (Autotint Designs, Sutton) said that the front side windows are illegal if they are over 30% tint. Which was the least tint they did. I thought it would look crap with the front lighter than the back so I got them to do the front limo black too. They said they'd do it bu...

Just to let you know, mines in and looks great. Finally got the K&N filter and it sounds much better.

Regarding the orange sensor, what actually is the difference between the golf and the polo sensor?

Got some old performance one off my mates astra. It sounds ok, but doesn't quite look the part! But yeh this induction kit idea works, now...

Went to the scrappy yesterday and picked up a mk3 golf air intake system. On doing so I noticed some key points to consider when doing this induction kit: 1.) On two similar looking mk3 golfs there where 2 different intakes. Im guessing one is the 1.4 model, and the other the 1.6/1.8 CL/GL model. Th...

My local garage quoted me £160 to change all 4 standard springs for my g40 ones. Sounds expensive but think of the hassle you've saved!

Ahhh typical VW, complicating everything! Right, my brother isn't going to want to hear this, ive been convincing him it won't take all day. Knowing our luck it will be two weeks. Is there no way around this problem, i mean do they all HAVE to come out? Plus ive heard a 13mm long reach socket can be...

Yeh its good to know it wasn't anything more serious. I looked at those leads a thousand times! Even went to A.R.E and asked them to reserve a set. They looked fine tho! But yep, been roaring around town today, ahh such a good feelin! (Don't worry i haven't got one of those Scooby/Evo sounding but r...

Suspension?????

Right, need to lower my car. Did my bro's Fiesta in 2 hours. The Polo however, is a different story!! What is this about a strut tool? Haynes seem to think you need one. Do you have to take the driveshafts out, or can you just knock/prise them off the hub with say a hammer? Is it difficult with the ...

MY POLO IS BACK!!! there was a breakdown in the HT leads. Typical, that was the next thing I was going to replace. Instead I took it to the garage, thinking it was much worse. I didn't want to spend £37 on a new set of leads, if there was just a chance it would cure it. In the end the garage charge...
