yeah, your probably right to buy a crap one and get it reconditioned

the way i want it reconditioned, bearings seals and the rivets changed e.t.c


like i say, the gearbox is great at the min, love driving the whole car

hi guys :) just purchased a mk5 polo Gti i know they have problems with the gearbox's....mines on 61k and the original box...it feels great, really crisp BUT i use the car daily and it looks like the furthest someone has got on the standard box is around 100k i want to prepare for the inevitable, so...

could be a leak somewhere, check the thermostat housing as theres a small gasket in there and they sometimes go, mine did.

also check for mayo kinda substance under the filler cap, if theres lots it means water/ anti freeze is mixing with oil.

hey people! all invited to the doncaster VW meet at vue cinema car park on sunday the 2nd march from 6PM onwards :) this is our 3rd meet we've held and there getting bigger evertime so lets make this one big! the weathers getting better and the nights are staying light for longer...... another idea ...

ouch at that battery rot....glad mines nice n waxoiled....thats a thing, get under it if you can and go mad with waxoil....makes sure things wont rust if there not already rusted! lol

aye the vento vr usually rocks borbet A's winter wheels on atm tho....

sounds like a warped disk to me, even if there new disk and pads they still warp....in fact i may be right in sayin that when there new there more prone to warping
