Read this great guide some years ago and now again as sidelight broken lately.

Successful on the battery side. But caught by the intake hose on the other side.

Is there any trick to remove the intake hose? or just brute force?

The hose seems very difficult to detached from the panel on the side ...

I left one of my key unused for a long time and found that it had lost the radio wave remote central lock/unlock function (bad key), I still had the functioning key (good key) which i use everyday.

Both keys were still able to start the car, just the radio wave remote central lock/unlock function ...

My GTi with FFW box had run 135770km/84363miles still good except some mild oil leaks.

Change gearbox oil twice with clutch change in past 7 years.

As i didn't heard much gearbox issues for GTi in Hong Kong, and i think we all have FFW box, i wonder if those failed box are of the other type ?ETG ...

In fact a pack of 4 leads is not available from VW for ARC/AVY engine.

u can buy any one or 2 or 3 or 4 leads. I've bought a lead 2 a few months ago for 9 quid ...

I've got the Lupo GTi aero wipers. The primary issue is that with the new arms and blades, the sweep area is changed and not only does the driver's side arm/blade comes very close to hitting the A-pillar, it also scrubs against the scuttle panel. IMHO if it is JUST the radio remote locking/unlocking is malfunction (i.e. you can still use the key to start the car) u just need to adapt all the radio remote keys again with the convenience system (address word 46) with VAG-COM. SKC should not be required.

just for anyones reference the eurocarparts sachs kit

641440620 (sachs part number 3000.581.001)

fits fine even though the invoice may say not for polo gti

The Sachs clutch kit 3000.581.001 also fits fine for my ARC engine.

The kit comes with the release bearing and the only extra that is ...

Hey folks,

Just a quicky, just plugged my vag com cable into car (2000 Polo Gti-ARC Engine code) tonight and it threw up these faults codes. :-(

17935- Camshaft Timing Adj. Bank 1 (N205); Short to ground

17511- Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor heating; B1 S1 ; PERFORMANCE TOO LOW

Yes, this is right, the pressure plate do not line up with the engine locating lugs.

My mechanic drilled a hole, or holes to line up. He said this was only a simple operation with zero bad effect of operation. 8)

Bit of an update.
The clutch listed previously does not fit!
The three locating holes on the pressure plate do not line up with the engine locating lugs ...
