Cold Air Intake

Does anyone on here have any Cold Air Intake piping installed into their engine? I've noticed the GTI's get pretty damn hot in the engine and when mine get's hot it loses a fair bit of performance. Yes I may be selling it, but if I can make this very un-tuneable car a bit quicker, I could be tempted...

Now down to £4.5 for a quicksale...can't negotiate to any less. 5k in Dec + 1.3k for gearbox/clutch + £800 for lowering & powerflow exhaust + labour = 7.1k If sold for 4.5k that gives me a loss of £2.600! Ouch that hurts. Wish I could control my urges better and forget about the 200sx dream!

Mines the same but just a very small fish in a big ocean of problems with my car, so I haven't done anything about it yet.

Button in the rear of the GTI

Hello!

Does anyone know what the button does by the rear right passenger seat? It has a picture of rays coming down from the ceiling which suggested to me it was either something to do with the alarm or lighting?

Cheers

Hmm...a tad worrying. It's getting lowered this week anyway but it does make you wonder why it's like that! I've never noticed myself  Heres a better side on pic, so you can see the height a bit better from a level angle. (Excuse the fame hungry girl jumping in the way of the pic) http://i7.ph...

Thanks for the welcomes chaps. Yeah it's an earlier model but it does have climate control as well as the sunroof which is cool. I've had the VIN number checked and it matches a polo GTI as I did wonder myself whether it was genuine. The whole car in terms of all the trimmings matches that of a GTI,...

Newb here...

Hello...As I haven't formerly introduced myself yet... I'm Neil and I bought a very cost inducing but yet very nice Polo GTI Open Air just before Christmas. It cost me 5k but the mileage has only just hit 30,000 and it was in stunning condition sitting outside the garage and I couldn't resist. Wasn'...

Engine Fan

My fan in the engine decided to stop working in the middle of ridiculously heavy traffic in London last night, causing my car to almost explode... Has anyone had their engine fan fixed before and does anyone know how much i'm gonna have to fork out on my ever so wallet friendly car to get it fixed? :?

I don't think generaly speaking, warrenties are renewed at the time when you get them to do something under it. However, as someone mentioned above...by law they will be liable to fix it. If it goes wrong twice in such a short space of time, it's not fit for purpose. I've made the garage I bought my...

Cheers guys, thanks for the advice. In regards to the 2nd issue. My mate has had an outing in the Polo and thinks it must be the 'Idle Valve' that is at fault, causing it to rev like mad when on the biting point. It really is embarassing while in traffic on a steep hill. In regards to the gears, is ...
