Hi i run a garage and often its the dpf sensor pipe which is rubber check those for splits bud that go to the exhaust

Just Change the gear oil anyway with the new vw stuff anyway it's not expensive and I can do it for you if u live near my garage based in Burnley

Yes use genuine gear oil only its only cheap too so not worth not getting it. Does the car have a cone filter on as this make it whoosh? Welcome to 9n3 ownership
