Just bought a GTi and Im very happy with it. Black with 51000 miles. One of the things Im not sure about though is there seems to be a lot of movement in the gearstick. I thought for a GTi it would have quite short tight shifts, but when its in gear it moves left and right more than I thought it ...

i would of thought it would have the same effect as that then? wouldnt you? because i was worried, when i had just started the car the fan would kick in, i got worried, but i then realised it was because my air con was on lol

Well yeah, but the fan should turn on the instant you turn the air con ...

i asume this is suppost to do this? as climate control basically keeps the interior of the car at a certain temperature so it will try and keep it at that operating temperature so will therefore make the fan faster/slower

If it's the interior fan you speak of then yes, this does vary as it should ...

I am pretty sure it is a relay or something, thought someone might know some specifics. It is a similar problem that happens on mk4 Golfs apparently. The fan should spin at a constant low speed to draw air through the air-con radiator as far as I know.
