You are correct, the car listed in the gallery is my old 9n (in blue)
The bulb i am trying to replace is the one in my dads 6n (i think) 51 reg polo, the model before the 9n.

it has the same looking heater control panel as is in the Mk IV Golf, it sits in the lower console below a little tray type ...

No Good, Radio is no where near the heater controls in the Polo, i have pretty much dis-assembled the centre console area where the heater controls are and there is no obvious location for the bulb. Heater controls dont want to come out either as they are attached via the cables and conecting cables ...

Need to find out how to get the fan speed knob off the heater controls to replace a faulty bulb.

In the Golf you just give it a good tug and off it comes but the Polo is refusing to budge. Im pulling so hard its about to pull the whole lot away from the centre console.

Is there a knack to it? or ...

Not had my Polo serviced yet, it was done when i bought it at 19k, had it changed to LongLife servicing and its at 26k now.

Before the 1.4FSI Polo i had a Bora 1.9TDI PD 150 BHP and that was on LongLife servicing. It called for its 1st Service at 16828 and only cost me £163.

£240 is unbelievable ...

Forthcoming house purchase forced sale of 150 TDI, however, i will be back, perhaps with a 130/150 TDI Polo in the near future!

Spoke to dealer again about this lamp on the dash (exhaust emmissions) and they said they are waiting for some software to come from germany so they can update my ECU! :lol:
Hopefully this will solve the problem, it runs ok, drives ok, but im not so keen on running it with the light on. :? Inlet ...
