If the water is in the boot since the replacement of the lights, I'm still pretty confident it's the seal. I was convinced (once) that I'd done everything right when replacing the lights, the I noticed some leakage. Turned out to be the seal; I'd fitted it upside down. Silly me. :D Either that, or i...

The covers are there to prolong the life of the shock absorbers. They keep dirt and rocks off the inner shaft, so the seal stays better for longer. Now that I think of it, my KW's may not have this at all; never bothered me much to be honest. (Could be wrong though!)

Just to get back on topic again... :-)

Only the Mk5 Polo has the 'hole in the window' option, the Mk4's are all cursed with the big oval cutout that requires a big blanking plate.

If only..!

A cam can be sourced from Schrick in Germany, not too expensive IIRC. Match it with a manifold + free flow exhaust (Supersprint, for instance) and you'll win a few hp. Nothing major though.

If it's done professionally it will not wreck the paint or finish. Chips will not come out, it's basically paint that's gone. Can't buff that back on. Scratches will, for the most part - unless again they're too deep. You can do it once (properly) then maintain it by regular light buffs. A good way ...

I'd stay well clear of 17" wheels. They'll make the handling much worse, as well as acceleration, etc. If you want big wheels, stick to 16's with the right size tyre, then slam it. No substitute.

I believe this was before he stopped messing about and dropped it an inch more.

60mm is my guess as well. You'll want 80+

I believe not all fluids can be used with rubber lines - plus, racing fluid may not overheat very quickly but it may attract water more quickly. Which would not be a problem if you replace it before every race. It's best to get proper info on which fluid is right for you - I'm guessing it'll be 5.1

I've had Goodridge lines for about two years now, I love 'em. Sadly one of the lines had bad threads but the mfr' replaced it free of charge. Brake pedal feels much firmer than with rubber lines. Recommended!

Before you pull and crack your windscreen, try twisting the mirror off the base. Turn it counter clockwise for about 45 degrees, it should come off without effort - Do Not Pull.

If you're unsure, ask your local Carglass or dealership.

I'm not following I'm afraid - its a aftermarket part? or OE? OE ones should have the button attached to the lever, not sure they come off.
