Broken timing tensioner
Was driving on the motorway and the bolt on the tensioner on the timing belt has broken. All 16 valves have been bent and need replacing. Genuine gaskets, valves etc. from VW dealers would cost me £600 but from Europarts at around £350. I wanted to know if there is a difference in quality of the val...

14" Staggered Deep Dish Alloy Wheels with Tyres - PCD 4x100
I have for sale a set of 4 14" alloy wheels. The stud pattern is 4x100 so will fit most VW's without any problems. The front wheels are 9J ET20 with Falken Ziex tyres, have a few curb marks but still look great as shown in pictures. The rear are 10J ET10 with Continental Contact Sport tyres aga...

Re: 1.8T BAM engine conversion
Yh its into a polo gti. Would a 5 Speed box be able to handle the 270bhp from a BAM engine? Also any ideas on how much it would roughly cost for the conversion? I will be using the brembo 4pot brakes from the cupra if that is possible.

1.8T BAM engine conversion
Wrote off the cupra r a week ago and have thought of buying the car back to put the engine into my polo. Its a BAM 1.8T engine remapped to 270bhp. I have rang JBS Autodesigns but they have told me that they only do engine conversions on engines supplied by them only. Also rang TSR and they have told...

Re: Gearbox gone again!!!
Took the gearbox to get refurb'd today, and the guy said the box is completely useless and should look into getting a fully reconditioned box. I have fount a few places that sell reconditioned boxes which have strengthened pinion bearings and differential so are longer lasting but want £650 includin...

Gearbox gone again!!!
The gearbox on my 1.4 16V is starting to make the loud grinding noise again for the 3rd time in under 2 years!! So i've decided to get the box overhauled this time with reinforced parts rather than getiing it refurbished. Does anyone know of any companies near Nottingham that overhaul gearboxes at a...

Re: A Sad Goodbye...
I own both a Polo and a Seat Leon Cupra R, and all i can say about the leon is WOW. I have the 1.8t 225 model and its been remapped to 270 and is very very quick. Brakes are excellent thanks to the 4 pot Brembo upfront. Handling is also great, with a decent set of tyres (i have Pirelli P-Zero Neros)...

Porsche D90 Wheels Polished, PCD Adapters & HiFlow Sport Cat
I have a set of 4 mirror polished genuine Porsche D90 16" wheels. Alloys are 6J with et52 so are perfect fit for Polos as you get no rubbing on the inner arches on full lock. All have near new tyres with plenty of tread (Falken 195/45) and genuine coloured Porsche centre caps. Two have a few cu...
