I've just taken my 6N for it's annual MOT and it failed because the Engine Management Light didn't flick on and off when the ignition is turned. Now, I've had this car for over 9 years now and that light has NEVER come on, ever. In fact, I had to look up the new MOT rules just to find out ...

It's all up and runing now. I just wired them up as I did when I had my MK2 and it all sounds fine. I don't have music blearing out anyway, as I'm old and a bit past all that! :lol: I just wanted everything to sound good.

So, without my knowing it, I wired them up correctly 6 years ago! Go me! 8) 8)

You probably think I'm really dim but, does that mean that the tweeters will pick up the right frequency without additional equipment?

I've never been good with technical terms.

I visited Pinoneer's website yesterday and found out that the Tweeters have "inline crossover network" whatever the heck that means!

Anyway, tried to wire up the 6x9's today. I think whoever wired up the last set of speakers naffed it up good and proper...I have one rear ...

Right, I have a set of Pioneer speakers that I bought for my MK2 Polo before I had to have it scrapped ( :cry: ) so now want to fit them all in my MK3. I have:

TS-T15 Tweeters.
TS-G1610 for the doors.
TS-A6946 6x9's for the rear.

Just a thought. I have some Polycarbonate smoke spray which I used on the shell of an R/C car. Could I use the rest of that to smoke my rear mirrors?

If I'm thinking of the same mirrors, there's a chap on Ebay has them for £29.99. I contacted him as I quite fancy a pair for mine. He says he can supply with the correct fittings.

I had my Golf repainted, and what with the new panels/audi handles/a little bit of smoothing it cost me just a smidge under 3k.

AND it rusted within 6 months.

Pettsy: Well, 14" sounds OK to me. I have read about people wacking 17" on a MK3. :shock: I've got 15" bog standard steal-rims on my Bug and they look quite big enough to me! :lol:

Anyone know where I could pick up some fairly cheep alloys? I like the 5 spokes. :D

I went to Ebay and found a lovely set of clear, oval side repeaters and a pair of clear indicators. Unfortunatly, the seller says they're for '94+ models.

I knew someone would say that! :lol:

I actually have a lowered Bug. But where I live there are speed humps everywhere and I can't get it over them! Don't want that again.

Just out of interest, how would one go about getting it lowered? Is it a DIY job, or best done by a professional?
