your thermostat may have gone but another issue that may need attention is the coolant pump. The vanes on the pump are made from crappy plastic and snap off. mine broke at 55000 miles and took the thermostat out too.

I like your rims, a very nice mk 4, but whos the lucky one owning a G40 aswell.

Possibly a 1.6 16v for a further 25bhp. The wifes Golf mk4 1.6 16v is quite nippy and weighs about the same as a challenger tank. should be quick enough.

You will need to weld a bracket onto your subframe to accept the the mk 4 Golf rear engine mount as it needs to be relocated onto the underside of the subframe there is no way that the engine mount will lcate where the Polo mk 4 mount is. There are loads of pictures at:

Will let you off then, must admitt I've never seen the 16v airbox assembly.

The rear engine mount would still have to be attached to the Polo subframe using the Golf mk4 mount.

If you are planning on using a mk4 Golf Dash board then the best of luck. The best way is to cut back the Golf wiring loom and connect it up to your existing Polo wiring loom.
