I'd never pay 2k+ for insurance. Maybe £1500 or £1700 if the car was really what I wanted but nothing more than that. But good luck with your decision.

ill stick up a few nice ones when it gets a little warmer
I thought the only problem with GTI boxes were faulty bearings. Could be wrong though.
Its bad design... The standard bearings are pretty good.... they just have too much load put on them... That, and a non metal bearing on 5th gear does not help.....VW tried to use what is basically a box ...
Cheapest was More Th>n. £399 protected NCD but couldn't adjust the excess, so they want £400.
Why don't you give them a ring and see if they can alter the excess over the phone? They usually can, it might later your premium by a few quid but it won't be much I shouldn't ...
Well it could have been alot worse than it was, seeing as he did slide back across into on comming traffic. I surpose it still dosent answer the "Dr's said I was lucky" part though.
Wierd I know, but I'm just checking to see if I can find some by the off chance someone had some lying around. Would save me the trouble of having to order some new ones and getting them sprayed which will probably be expensive.
I was lucky according to the doctors. I wer in second lane overtaking. the car pulled into me i swerved just missed it then loss control span out out n smashed into central reservation like twice. ended up in the fast lane with cars just missin me. i wer brickin it. NEVER AGAIN
I'm pretty sure you'd have to get the tracking and camber done regardless of what coilovers you fit, as your still adjusting the original setup of the car.
I'm 18 now, and could insure a GTI on my mums insurance with me as a named driver for £1580, but i've decided to keep my 1.0 6n2 and have my own fully comp insurance so i can get my own no claims bonus for when i'm 20/21, when i'm gonna look into buying an S3.
