Re: Polo 1st car - info on what to look for
Listen to the gearbox whilst idling push the clutch in and out and listen for rattling also on the drive listen to it carefully for any odd noises. They are notorious for eating their gearboxes but others give no trouble.

Re: Newbee buying a Polo for my sons 1st car
For the 1.2 I believe they changed the design of the tensioner around 2002/2003 due to the camchain problems described above. We just bought a 2005 model 1.2s 12v 64bhp and we are seriously impressed with it.It has a nice spec with AC front fogs, alloys and a decent sounding factory stereo. It will si...

There are a couple of scuffs on the bodywork but nothing serious. Never driven the 1.2 three cylinder before but im really quite impressed with it. I wa...

Polo Dune
Swmbo is wanting a Polo Dune and we were going to go for the 1.4TDi but having read a few horror stories of total engine failure including this one (see link). Its kind of put us off enough to start looking at the 1.4 petrol instead. Any body have any experiences, thoughts or comments. http://www.ho...

Rough tickover change spark plugs
Morning all
Im considering changing my plugs as I occasionally get a slightly rough tickover and it has cutout a few minutes after starting but that happens rarely. Im told I need a 14mm socket but how long an extension bar will I need ?

Re: Steering pulling
Having driven it for a couple of weeks now I think I have too much positive camber. What do you think ? As you know I had the tracking done two weeks ago and although its better I still get some tramlining. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-iUPWymWpFbY/U0Q6KeTfznI/AAAAAAAAInA/ipQQhF7IHZs/w737-h553-...
