driver door lock broke?

today my car went in for a service at the main dealer. ok ok dont laugh, it was a freebie from vw for all the hassle they have caused me. well anyway i dropped the car off and everything was fine, when i picked it up the drivers key lock will no longer open the car. it will lock it but i have to use...

i can tell you one thing - dont listen to a vw mechanic. mine went back 18 times for squeaking from the rear brake system. sometimes i couldnt get the car off the drive as the brakes were stuck on. and they were getting the same fault at the garage but couldnt find the fault. the latest idea is that...

the max i ever got was 564 miles on 1 tank. tdi 75bhp. manual average 520. my run to work is quite clear and i dont get stuck at lights in traffic etc. as a general rule i normally fill up 100 miles after the red light comes on. gives me about 6 litres left in the tank. which should be enough for an...

i disagree - performance exhaust companies make a living out of improving the 'performance' of cars. manufacturers having differnts goals - economy, noise etc. then there is the argument of not getting a vw exhaust just because you dont want to line vw's pockets with more gold for poor service.

i have a 1.4 tdi as well.

it is quite quick but not earth shattering. 0-60 in about 11 but quick from 30 -70. not much in the way of standard cars can keep up.

commuting to work which is about 14 miles and i get 60+ mpg. roads are probably 50/50 split between 30mph and 60mph.

new exhaust for 1.4tdi

i have a 2001 polo 1.4 tdi the exhaust is on its way out. i have rung scorpian exhuasts and they can supply a full system, which i assume is from the cat back, or a rear box. i am not sure, though, if it is a specific one for my car or a generic one for all cars. the reason i ask is that i dont want...
