I had the same problem with the whining noise but vw said it is the main pinion bearing. Im getting a new gear box this friday fully re-con for £380. my wife's polo gti has decided to be a pain in the ass again. the gearbox has started to whine. so shes had it checked and the garage has said the diff is knackered:( so will be needing a gearbox. the polo was for sale aswell.(but not now)so we've had to go and buy another car as shes a mobile ...

i agree mate. the rear is to low. but i think the front is bang on;)

what do you think? the rear has got to be raised about 1 inch to match the front;) so that will be saturdays job:)

had the old oe alternator checked. it was dead. so was the secondhand 1:(

but now had a new alternator fitted

ok the other day my wife was driving home in her 6n2 gti,and the battery light came on.then some more lights on the dash came on.the petrol gauge stopped working along with the outside temp. so i checked the voltage at the battery and it was 10.70 with the engine running.so i found a secondhand 1 ...

i'll keep it people. spare;)

has anyone got any pictures of a slammed 6n2 gti?
