the mk4..is the 6n basically think years are 1995 - 1999. you can tell difference from 6n and 6n2 (newer model) the plastic cover bacially hides parts of the engine, some have them and some dont, depends on if they broke it lost it or whatever. you can get 16v or 8v. 8v have the "plastic cover&...

so now...for a few months each time ive had to put my wipers on, the "wiper switch"(as its known in the manual) its been a struggle to push up to "on", its fine moving it down to the other one where works every 9 secs. but now the problem is it wont move up onto the "on"...

just spray wd40 on all locks and when i meant inside, all the rubber seals, around them and then around the edge of the doors (whats not visible when the doors shut)

dont disconnect your central locking. you need to use wd40 on the locks and on the inside of the doors so it doesnt freeze shut overnight

i was looking in the haynes manual and it mentions the heater matrix is around the dash area, any idea how you actually replace it?

do ineed to get the whole dash out?

is it a full day job ??

mine shifts and is really quick, insurance aint much

to be honest the white gunk is a first sign, take it straight back to garage who did it to have a look!

my cousin has a bmw and he got a small spoiler which made insurance go up 400 quid so be careful....

if you dont declare alloys and they get nicked ur screwed
if something gets damaged in a crash what you havent declared e.g. suspension, exhaust, bushes, bodywork etc and their all aftermarket then you wont get a penny

my car is lowered and got loads of stuff waht isnt declared, youll be fine but if u crashed you cant et any money back from them mods

get the kit off of ebay! bout 15 quid or something i got one! i got a 6n2 gti boot on mine, straight fit but the boot hangs out slightly by the taillights it will look more flushed with the mk4 boot done properly the kits are easy to do, instructions arent the best. youll need extra cable about 5 me...

i know a few in west yorkshire, depends how much you want to spend on "finishing" the job to be honest
