Re: 1.9D battery boiled

hello mate-

the alternator produces ac voltage but has a bult in regulator rectifier, this converts the output to dc volts and also regulates the power output so it does not overcharge the battery and other electrical components.

Re: starting up after a cylinder head rebuild

hello-

did you do everything correctly whilst putting the head back together?

timing is spot on?

for it to rev up like that it will need extra fuel air so there could be a vacuum leak etc!!!!!

is all connections correctly fitted, all sensors?

very twisty roads so never above 60mph.mainly using 3rd,4th and 5th.averaging probably in and around 30-35mph.....40mph at a push.

Cam cover is a common fault. New seal will rectify that.

its not too bad atm so going to leave until i do the head ...

Short journeys around town can have this effect, and make you think the gasket is going when it is infact fine.

way ahead of you on that one

i knew this as a possible cause and the worrying thing is the car does not do short journeys!!!!!

i topped the coolant up this morning and after work i ...

whilst the car is jacked up,turn the wheel freely and see how freely it turns.get someone to apply the brakes ...
