The thing is the polo gti engine IS mapped for higher RON fuel, using normal 95 stuff in the gti will give lower performance, its designed to run on 98 RON fuel to give its quoted power. V-Power being an extra RON over optimax can only be a good thing as an extra deterrent against knock really too ?

Phew I'm saved :lol: Went into my local shell this morning - no change at all, then onto the shell uk website and nothing either, I was totally confused ! Seems like some of the stations might be lauching it sooner than others..or maybe they did all the change over at my local station after I checke...

There's only one button I know of in that area and thats the button to turn off in interior alarm sensor so when he car is locked if anything moves inside the car, the alarm won't sound. The sensor itself is on passenger side of the headlining !

The newer AVY engine conforms to certain emmisions regulations (that came in about May 2000) that the earlier ARC doesn't. I don't think there's any physical differences apart from the mapping of the engine, where the AVY engine has a small dip in power the between 3.5 to 4k odd mark to reduce emiss...
