Removing strips
Greetings.
Do these strips on a '98 6N have holes underneath...

...or are they glued and can they be removed with fishing line and this (just bought me one for debadging the rear..)?

Looks great, I really envy you guys for having small number plates...
:( :( next year we gonna have the european numberplates.
hope its still fits
Maybe you can fit square-like plates if/when those are introduced?
(suzuki alert, random image from the internets..)

Re: a few things im wondering about
Check this thread: http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t132062.html , it shows the progress of somebody converting a 6N to a 6N2. The thread also contains some pics from another 6N with a 6N2 tailgate that has been smoothened. That owner recommends some welding to make it fit flush ...

Re: vag-com
I know that newer VAG models can be programmed with vagcom (daytime running lights in US style, teardrop wiping yes/no, wiper intervals and so on).
What's the benefit if you have a 6N, apart from reading error codes?

I don't know the age of an X-reg, but my 6N has a sticker in the boot with the engine, colour and options codes.

Re: how much does a new clutch cost?
I paid 150 quid incl VAT in the Netherlands, with discount. Original price was 210 pounds (250 euro). This was for a 6N SDI.
Edit: changed it myself, so no labour in prices above.

Re: RECARO SEATS - pair of fronts - electric - £100
Too bad you're not in the neighbourhood. I'd certainly buy them for £100. Would keep 1 spare then lol.
But £120 is the reason I didn't put my recaro in my 6N (yet). £60 is not much for those frames.

Re: RECARO SEATS - pair of fronts - electric - £100
I've got one of those Recaro's in the attick... Was quoted 120 quid (145 euros) for a subframe for a 6N (type of car really makes no difference).
This was in The Netherlands though, so YMMV.
