Re: Climate control question.

I just leave mine on 18 auto ac all the time, works well enough! Can be a bit noisy though.

Re: Finance Fumbles and Exporting Your Car to Another Countr

Have you tried taking it to a dealer and seeing what they would give you for it as a trade in? Might just about cover the outstanding finance.

Re: To buy or not to buy?

The white paint/ panoramic roof combo looks good but it needs a bigger set of alloys to finish it of.

Re: How to improve performance on 1.2 60 ps Polo?

Its not a bad engine. Compared to the 1.4 85PS its nippier from a standing start, more economical and chain-driven so no cambelt replacement to worry about.

Re: Multifunction display

You can't change it, the reason it does that is the UK law requires the vehicle to display the speed in KM/H, and the dials only read in MPH. Its exactly the same on nearly all new VAG vehicles and Mercedes-Benz.

Re: First dub, 6N!

ABS was standard fit on the Polo GL until 1997, after which it became optional. The rest of the GL trim was same as the CL (i.e. central locking, front electric windows, height adjustable front seats, rear head rests etc..) but with the addition of a manual sunroof and alloy wheels. As for the engin...

Re: tyre rubbing on full look

Thanks for the reply. I've checked and double checked they are the correct size tyres, and certainly according to the handbook and original spec of the 16v Polo it seems they are. Balancing and Aligment is probably a good idea, so I might consider getting that done. Hope its not too expensive though...

tyre rubbing on full look

Hi, Ever since replacing the stock wheels on my 1.4 CL (175/65 R13) with the 16v alloys (185/55 R14) I've noticed that whenever the car is on full lock the wheels seem to be rubbing the inside of the arch, as theres a very distinct grinding sound that wasnt there before. Does anyone know why this is...
