if the plastic pin locator breaks the car will overheat...not drop in temp, as when the pin extends when it gets to temp its got nothing to push up against to open the stat to let the water though... if you are not running with a thermostat theres no problem the water just keeps circling the system,...

its a bit late for a reply but i really doubt its ur alternator, all it does it charge the battery, nothing to do with high reving etc, that could be a range of things, ignition leads, sensors...i really doubt if its an alternator:)

your in luck...first day i had my polo i had to replace the radiator on it... not a nice job unless you like getting ur hands dirty...the best way i found was to take off the front bumper, then the slam panel...be prepared for a shock, if it is anything like mine you mite want to pop down the the sc...

best thing to do first of all before chucking money to at, buy some carb cleaner from halfords, dave edwards, lds etc...take off the air box...arm yourself with an old toothbrush, and go nuts, dont worry, the carb cleaner wont cause any problems if you spray alot!:) hope it helps

yeah its consistant, i gave the whole thing apart from the roof like 4 coats, theres no spray stoke marks, its a really good finish, and the only reason the roof isnt, is because im thinking of spraying it white:D... just bough some deep dish alloys, all blackk:D

for a good finish you want to let the top coat harden before applying laquer, e.g. 2/3 days and then laquer it...layer by layer, built it up slowly and dont apply to much at once, obviously you know you dont wana spend all this time spraying it to get it right and then have to rub it all down again ...

ive lowered mine only 50 mm on standard shocks, and when there are people in the back it rubs, as said above, either roll ur arches or strech ur tires givin that euro look:P proper dub style:D
