Re: Remote central locking and alarm
Hmmm... Well as of what I can remember, where the bonnet release handle is (bottom right of the drivers footwell), you would need to take that off and the panel guarding it. After taking off the panel you will have a loom of wires, if you splice the black tape that surrounds the loom then it's easie...

Re: Auto folding door mirrors
Thanks for the info K.I.T.T. I've had a deeper search into stuff again and I've decided to scrap the idea. But what I do like, is the puddle lights. Apparently, the Skoda Octavia wing mirrors are idenctical to our Polos? Who knows, but I found this guide anyways: http://translate.googleusercontent.c...

Re: Auto folding door mirrors
I read somewhere on a MK5 Golf forum, that all the parts including fitting will be £600. So I presume it will be similar for the polo if not a little less? That is including the puddle lights.

Re: Auto folding door mirrors
How difficult is it to retro fit as I am seriously looking into it, it is an extremely useful solution to idiot truck drivers taking off your wing mirrors. I've had my car for 9 months now, and so far I've had to go to the stealers to replace my offside wing mirror as I forgot to tuck them in at nig...

Re: Auto folding door mirrors
Is it an aftermarket function? Or does it come as an addition extra? I haven't seen any Polo's apart from one with this function.

Re: Remote central locking and alarm
I've heard it was a bit tricky to install an alarm into your car, and would require professional help to do so. But, wiring a remote central locking kit is a piece of pi$$. It's a 10 minute job, if that.
This is the kit I used:

Re: VW Polo GTi Monza 16" alloys
I am quite interested in these mate, but only the pictures can tell if I will make the buy or not as you say they are a bit kurbed and few marks on them.

Re: Coilovers For GTI
Spax are always a good choice. My mate has them on his Golf MK5 GTi, ride is smooth, ride is low. That's really what you look for in coilies

Re: Changing Gear Question
I do exactly what you do but I don't get a jolt. I think the trick is, to lift your clutch up slower than you would in the higher gears. I also changed instantly from 1st gear to 2nd gear. I try to be as eco-friendly as I can ( Not so I can save the world, So I have more fuel to race with when I wan...

Painting Rims
Anybody got any advice on painting rims? I've been looking for some Monzas for some time for my Polo, as my rims are a bit boring. I was thinking of painting them high gloss black, anybody got tips on how I would go about doing it? Methods? Products? For example, would I need to sand it, which produ...

Re: Respray Front Bumper
Both ideas are pretty good, both are little mods but make such a big difference. Got pictures to prove it: Without either the lower grilles or Carbon: http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/4064/img00108201001201354.jpg With the lower grilles in: http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/8387/dsc01287jz.jpg And ...

Re: Respray Front Bumper
Well, I've had a respray on my Reflex Silver bumper, and it cost me £250, but thats without the middle section (which I have now in Carbon Fibre). What I suggest you do is, spray the middle section yourself like in the thread, and then try and blag who ever your dealing with, to spray either side of...
