Re: Stubby mirror - your experiences?

My mk5 has a stubby on the passenger side only but my mate`s GTi has stubby`s both sides! I first thought that maybe my Polo had been in a crash and that somebody had put a mk4 Golf mirror on the Driver`s side.. I personally don`t like the stubby and plan to change it to match the driver`s side. It ...

Re: Handles

I know for a fact that you`re looking at £12 a side for the interior items. Considered painting them mate? Its on my to do list, alot cheaper and more fun than going to a Stealership

Re: Cleaning my dish

I`m guessing its polished metal and not painted?
If it has`nt been looked after you may be better off just stripping it down and re-polishing it! You could then re-lacquer it. If the metal has pitted under the lacquer there`s not alot you can do mate. Photos would help

Re: AFFORDABLE DETAILING for you

Dude, have you any idea how long it would take to do a full detail and paint correction? £50 is what I would charge for a private valet alone and that was for friends. Paint correction will take as long again. I would say £100 is nearer the right price, you`ll work yourself into the ground and £50 i...

Re: TT comps, polish?

Yeah Autosol, although really good, will scratch, its best for things like exhausts. Autoglym super resin polish is also really good for polished metal, I used it on my mk2 golf chromed & polished engine bay all the time. You can also polish ure car with it.. I would`nt bother putting those comp...

Re: Help needed on how to repair paintwork!

I would use a mobile smart repair guy or even better, one with an indoor unit. These sort of ppl are often cheaper than a bodyshop. I would`nt attempt it yourself mate, colour matching could be pretty difficult. Be careful who you choose, a mate of mine had ChipsAway do some work on his Mum`s fiesta...

Re: paint removal

Using paint stripper can be very messy and time consuming, if you don`t clean it off properly afterwards it will effect the new paint. I would simply use something like 2000 grit wet N dry sandpaper to roughen up the surface, clean the wheels then dry them. Next primer them, leave to dry and now pai...

6n2 Coilovers (universal fit?)

Does the 6n2 have the same suspension set-up throughout the model range?

I need to know if, for example coilovers on a GTI would fit a TDI?
When I see 6n2 coilovers for sale people never list what engine car they are off

Thanks

Re: traffic warden... parking ticket

If you were only three minutes late I would find out how long they are meant to wait because I thought they had to wait around five minutes before issueing a ticket. If you got a ticket only three minutes after ure ticket ran out it means the warden was waiting around by ure car, this is something t...

Re: 1.4 MPG Question - what do you get>?

Check the air pressure in ure tyres, it makes a difference if ure running a bit low. I run at roughly 32-34psi

Rockin big, wide rims hammers ure mpg, all more resistance and weight

Re: Tyre Profile > MPG?

Width, size and weight all contribute mate. On my previous car (Passat) I swapped 16`s for 18`s which were very heavy and wider and the mpg dropped massively. I later sold them on as I did`nt like how the car handled
