Re: Cold starting problem

the faulty PCV valve idea is interesting - Im going to look into that - and will report back. I don't think its the valves as it runs really sweetly when its up to speed..? Is it easy to diagnose / test the PCV valve? Jonathan This may help. Search in file for Crankcase Breather or Diaphragm valve....

Re: Oil leak - HELP

It's difficult to see from the pictures, but my first guess would be the valve cover gasket. Have you removed the black plastic engine cover and inspected the engine further? You could clean the engine up and after a few kilometers check if you can find the source by following the leak's path upwards.

Re: Location of MAP & o2 sensors

You didn't mention which type of engine you've got. Mostly on the left side of the engine on the intake manifold. Google it and you'll see where :mrgreen:

Re: Having trouble.

Try plugging an obd reader onto the car. There may be some fault codes stored in the ECU which might point you in the right direction.

Re: Rough idle on Polo 1.4 Match 6N2 2001

Most common rough idle problem for these vehicles is a clogged crankcase breather hose, PCV valve and/or EGR. The breather hose is on the left side of the air filter and goes down to the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve on the back of the engine. The EGR is located on the right front side ...

Re: no pertol out of the petrol tank

It could be that your fuelpump has died. You can replace the pump once you're 100% sure that it's not working properly. If you drive on an empty tank there might be a chance your fuel filter (or the fuel lines) became clogged with gunk. You can replace the fuel filter and while the filter is unplugg...

Re: Stiff gear selection

Has this been like this for a while or just recently? It might be the gear selector which is giving you a headache, to be honest I don't see anything which might me causing the problem. The bushings look fine to me. But then again....I'm not an expert either. I do know that the gear selection can be...

Re: Cambelt service/change

Imo around the 60.000-65.000 miles or within 5 years would be safe to change the cambelt. But if you have the owners manual you will find it in there. Changing the cambelt is not a cheap repair because of all the work involved, so if it's being changed you might as well make the extra effort to chan...

Nice Polo, I've got a 95er as well. You already know what type of wheels you're going to fit under your Polo?

P.s: the last 2 photos aren't visible for me.

Re: Polo 6N --> 6N2 swap

Headlights with electric height adjustment are fitted and working perfectly. Made my own wiring loom adaptors because I didn't want to chop the original loom. The 6n headlight motors aren't the same as 6n2, so I had to find out each wire's function. Also found a leather steeringwheel and bought that...

Re: Polo 6N --> 6N2

Yesterday I've done the real first trip with the Polo, I drove for 150 kilometers and she behaved very well. I also went to the breakers yard and found all the 6N2 parts which were missing. The interior is now complete, the only missing parts are 6N headlights with electric height adjustment and the...
