Hello;
Rescently i purchased an ALPINE CDE W203Ri double din unit for my 53 reg 9n polo; ever since instaling; it has never retained the memory i.e. radios stations / cd track loaction etc. I did not buy any particular block connnector as the factory standard fitted fine.
Also; At times; when i turn the car off the unit stays on and i have to manualy turn if off.
Can anyone suggest or has any ideas what i need to do to the probelms.

Re: Double Din ALPINE CDE W203Ri
A problem I had up until this weekend when I switched headunits.
Had read online that aftermarket headunits have a different live/switched live setup to standard OE ones.
Could be solved by switching the red(live) and yellow(switched) wires on the back of the headunit DIN connectors.
Guess what...?
Something I read on the internet actually worked.
Red -> Yellow
Yellow -> Red
and POW! it gives the headunit memory.
Don't blame me tho if you use this information and blow your car up.
