So im looking into buying some focal 165a1 component speakers to replace the standard door speakers & tweeters on my 6n2, my question is, will i need an amp to power them or will the power from a new headunit (45-50w) be sufficient as they recommend normal power of 60w, know a lot of people on here already have them so hopefully somebody can help.
Cheers (:

Re: Will i need an amp?
I recently fitted a set of Focal 165A1s into my 6n2
A decent 4x50W headunit can power them ok, and I had mine running like this for a good few weeks, but I amped mine with a Phoenix Gold XS4600 amp as I like them a bit louder and as with any decent speakers, if you dont amp them up, the HU is only good to a certain volume before it starts to distort.
