6n2 GTI Internals

just out of intrest and for future reference, what sort of power can the standard gti engine internals take? never really found a deffinite answer on this....

The answer isn't a polo forum one, the answer would be better found on a Lupo forum as they're more inclined to actually do things with their engine.

Andy P runs an eaton, he just used a compression plate and it hasn't blown up (much) yet.

Casper used a set of custom rods and pistons, that hasn't blown up.

Some people charge the 75bhp engines as the internals are stronger.

I think it's one of those things where you won't know untill you try. What were you considering FI'ing it with ?

not strong enough for a turbo then lol, that was the idea, was hoping they would of been strong enough for 200hp ... nevermind! :)

from what i know the bottom end will need pistons and rods if ur wanting 200 and over and as with the head apparently if you replace it with the 1.4 16v head it is stronger and can hander more power than the gti head

The AFH head is stronger, flows better etc. . . .

Except getting the belt tensioner to take the bhp isn't an easy challenge.
