Is this is the face of the new GTI?

hold any design cues for the long-awaited GTI? I don't know, but am open to speculation...

Note the different headlamp units as well as the mouldings...

But - bear in mind that last year's Cup cars all had the votex kit on them, so perhaps this is just the votex kit for the 9N2? The reason I say this is that the Golf GTI doesn't come with side skirts like these cars seem of have.

But still, interesting pictures nontheless...

Deek.

if it is a Votex kit, it looks like a body kit rather than a skirt kit this time (full front and rear bumpers i mean)

the side skirts look exactly the same, the rear spoiler looks sorta twisted
Image (clearer pic)

i wouldnt think it would be a GTI, just doesnt look special enough, or do i just have too high expectations?

i rekon its just a normal kitted up 9n2....time will tell!

How nice is that!!!!

Hated the new shape on the other photos of poverty spec ones, but really like the look of the cup car.

Wonder if you can get the "cup" badges yet?

EDIT:Gets the thumbs up from him too

Its certainly interesting! I reckon the mesh grille and smoked headlights might find their way onto a production version of a GTi, and hopefully xenons will feature - don't think I want to drive a non-HID equipped car now I've experienced them on mine! 8)

Rollcage to be a dealer-fit option?

I suppose a 9N can be facelifted by installing a new hood, new fenders, new head lights and new front bumper... can anyone confirm this?

I'm sure this will cost less than trading in the 9N for a 9N2, my 9N is running fine, so I found no reason to trade in if a facelift can be done aftermarket...

Does anyone know the approximate demage to the wallet?

wouldn't veedub use the same kinda front end as the new golf GTI? with the different colour centre section?

Sorry about the delay, I've only had the magazine in my house for 10 days!

Looks like a photoshop of the new Golf GTI onto a Polo, the wheels, front bumper, grille and hell even the colour are pure Golf GTI. If the Polo GTI looks something close to this, it'll be very nice. Prices estimated at £15,500 new, "although buyers are likely to get lots of standard kit". I should think so too!!

Sounds about right. Its a 1.8 Turbo engine, so could be the one from the Mk4 Golf GTi, or the Ibiza Cupra R, but sure going to shift.
