Hi Guys,

I'm Raf from Belgium and i'm new on this Forum.
i am verry glad to find a decent forum about Polo's, specially the GTi model.
My car is a Polo GTi MY07 and is in my possesion sinds 2006 and i'm still verry happy with it.
a few things has been done to it but there are more things to come.
before i did any tuning i did a Dyno run to see what performance it has when it was stock.
and i had 161Hp and 250nM was the result wich i think was not bad.
Then i had a K&N airfilter installed.
i've noticed a litlle bit in higher RPM, i could breath better.
and my fastest times from 0-60 was 6.3sec,
and on 1/4th mile dragrace my best time was 15.07sec.
i recon i could do 14.9 but i never made it because after 2 runs i had heatsoak.
the intercooler is a real problem i think.
but before i did that update i had it lowered with KW V1 suspension.
and not so much later i had a Full milltek system installed.
so now i'm planning to go again on the Dyno to see what power gains i have with this.
22 august i know the result.
after that i'm going to install the seat sport intercooler that i have laying in the garage allready.
enough said, here ar some pics.

Awesome videos!

I'm very tempted to trade my 1.2 in for a GTI at the moment! Your not helping my decision

Where is your rear spoiler?

thanks for the comments :D
@Po-Low, i've seen you're car before also, only on forum sadly, love to see it IRL

i don't have a rear spoiler, never had one.
maybe one day i'll fit Cup-edition kit but i'm not sure about that.

PS: go for the GTI, it's a bit more powerfull than the 1.2 model :P

Today i went back to the Dyno sinds i have now airfilter and full milltek installed.
Full stock it had 161Hp and 250nM (133WHp)
Today with the above mods i have 167.7Hp and 254.9nM (140WHp)
so the airfilter and full milltek only gave me 6Hp and 4nM wich is a bit disapointing.
i thought it would have 175hp or so because they say with a full exhaust system you would gain +-15Hp.
so that's all s**t!
maybe with chiptuning on it that it would make 15Hp more then a chipped car with stock axhaust.
anyhow, i'm verry pleased with the result, i have a bit gain and the car goes verry strong, thats what's important for me!
wonder how it will go when i would have +200hp  :P

So, yesterday the Polo went for a service,
in a mean while it was a great momment to fit the Seat intercooler behind the bumper.
i must say, the forge Piping that was disigned for an Ibiza fitted perfect!
only thing i have had to do was cut away some plastic from the bumper and a plastic grill holder thats was not visable and useless.
so now the bumper fits perfect and thats the same for the intercooler.
in about 2 hours it was fixed and this was the result:

i'm verry plesaed with the result!
i have more and better pictures without the bumper so you see it alot better.
but those are on my cellphone and that thing died on me last night so you have to wait a bit for those pics

Is that piping kit made by Forge? Looked on their website but didn't find it...

Hey matee, awesome vid :D Do you mind sharing your launch technique?? Amount of revs and do you dump the clutch or do you take it a litle easy to reduce wheel spin? Thanks :D

as i said on VWatercooled;
It's not on the site because it's a verry new product.
i saw it on a picture of an Ibiza and read something about aforge kit and saw the silicone tubes with a Forge logo on it.
so i went to the local Forge dealer and asked for more info and they contacted Forge.
they confirmed it's a new Pipekit designed for the Ibiza special for the seat FMIC.
but i knew that an Ibiza and Polo are pretty much the same so i took the risk and orderd the kit.
seems that it fits perfectly on a polo as well
ordernumber for the kit is "FM SKINT" if youre planning to order it yourself :P

Launch technique?
mostly i get rid of the backseat for a bit of weight reduction.
That compared with lower pressure on the tires (around 1.8bar) easy gives you about 0.2 -0.3sec benifit from 0-60.
i keep my polo revved on +-2700RPM and let the clutch come agressive, but not all the way because then i can still controle the launch.
and i let the cluch come all the way a bit more easy.
if you practice on it you will start to notice that every time you practice it, it will go better and better.
untill the point you will reach lower 6sec.
my best time was 6.3sec.

but if i don't get the backseat out and the tyres are on normal pressure etc.
i still get the polo to do 6.5sec.
i just did those tricks in Ciney because that's a verry short sprint and everyting comes from the launch :P

hopes this helps you a bit!
