9N3 Brake problem.

Post by guzgog »

Hi there. First time poster so please be gentle :)
I have a problem with my 9N3's brakes. When hard braking over uneven ground ( bumps, gravel, manhole covers etc.) the car intermittently feels like it's losing traction. The brake pedal judders quite dramatically whilst pedal pressure sinks. I noticed this a while ago but it happened once in a blue moon. Brakes work perfectly at all other times.
Recently though it's started happening more often especially in the wet. The dash warning lights are not showing any fault.
I've done a fairly comprehensive internet search but to no avail.
Any help with this head scratcher would be most appreciated.
Neil.

What is the service status of the car? Brake fluid changed recently-ish? Fluid level ok? All brakes ok? Rear drums or discs?

Drums on rear. Master cylinder changed and system flushed through today. Recent drivers rear caliper after it seized a couple of months ago. Front passenger side caliper changed today after sheared off bleed nipple :(

It sounds a lot like the ABS brakes working the way they're designed :?
