1.2 BMD Oil Disappearing after exhaust valve replacement

Just done the exhaust valves on my BMD engine. Replaced the timing chain, exhaust valves all of the valve seals as well. However, oil seems to be disappearing now. there are no visible oil leaks and there is no smoke coming out of the exhaust. The oil needs to be topped up every 2 weeks or so because it gets quite low. There is a hole in the exhaust at the moment on the flex pipe bit, could this be contributing to the problem or what else could it be?

Valve guide wear is a common issue also , did you replace these at the same time ?

If the oil consumption has now increased since "overhaul" then its quite likely that one of the seals may have been damaged on renewal. Renewing the seals even with worn valve guides will normally reduce the oil consumption even if only temporarily.

Sounds like you will need to remove the head and check all the work previously done and value guides for wear
