Bigger bore master cylinder

Post by simon k »

Hi from Australia, does anyone know of a brake master cylinder with a bigger bore that is a direct (or with minimal mods) swap for the stock master cylinder?

I have a 2006 GTI and the brake pedal is soft, everyone I know who has a 9n3 says the same thing. The brake pedal is firm when the engine isn't running but sinks almost all the way to the floor when running. I've bled it using a pressure bleeder and VCDS cycling the ABS pump and am quite sure there is no air in it.

A possible fix is a bigger bore MC so I'm looking for options but not having a lot of luck.

Thanks

We have an AU '08 GTI and had no such brake problem. I did read over the interwebs that the Audi S3 kit can be swapped in (callipers, slave and master cylinder). Original pads and 115Km on ours.
