Greets, just got a Polo, could do with some advice.

Post by Kalahari »

Hi all,

Just got a 1.0 1996 Polo, please bear with me am about to cry...

...Traded in my lovely 1.8 Zafira comfort for it, sniff...

Had no choice, Zaf had lost it's power steering and god thats a heavy car to lug round a corner without mechanical help. Also was due a hefty MOT so I'd have spent a bomb getting it fixed. Besides, years insurance on that beast £600+, on the Polo £270 plus saving on fuel.

Anyway, can anyone help me? I want to fit a hidden immobiliser on the Polo taking the form of a switch somewhere under the dash.

I've done the same thing on a few previous cars and its worked well, some scally git once got in my Uno, he was still trying to start it at the bottom of the road when a well timed Mr Plod felt his collar.

Well I digress, where would be the best place on a Polo to lob in this switch, Before now I've done one in the engine bay coming off the dizzy and a few well inside the dash.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Oh I'm quite auto illiterate so saying, splice it in to the third diagnostic sensor cross wired into the EGR return flux capacitor may leave me just a tad puzzled!!!

Cheers in advance if you can help.

Kal.

Hiya mate, welcome to the site.

Is your car the same mark as this one?:

(I assume it is judging by the year or registration)

If so it's a mark4, try posting this in that section 8)
