hello
new water pump, tensioner and belt, but when i started the engine i observed that the cam stayed central on camshaft, then after 2 minutes, the belt walked to the EDGE and stayed there.

carffull observation of the crankshaft revealed that the belt ,after 2 min, walked to the Edge of CRANK.
there is an allen key hole on the tensioner. my tensioner pointer is inbetween the < cut out,according to haynes vw this pointer position is accurate,but i note that the tensioner hole picture in the haynes manual is at 12 oclock position when accurately tensioned. my allen key tensioner hole is in between 9-10 oclok position when accurately tensioned. is this a problem?
all new items fitted are 100 percent genuine vw parts.
