LED DRL Bi-Xenon Headlamps....

Post by ryanlownie »

I'm sure we're all pretty jealous of the OEM LED DRL Bi-Xenon's offered by VW on new Polo's, but put off the ££££ prices given to retrofit them.

I was searching the net and happened to come across these on eBay, wondering if anyone has seen them before or can provide more info? It seems like an absolute steal!

Yeah the price really tempts me, but I'd like to see if anyone's bought any third party ones before and get a solid review on them...

A little more digging found these:

Hi.the price looks good, the only thing I would say is after buying quite a bit abroad on ebay and other sites,is that you will be clobered by customs on this, unless you or a friend can get them while visiting. its seems customs pick up on anything over about $70 and then charge a % of the value and others fees. if your not worried then no problem, just be aware thats all im saying....

They do look good, and only £260 delivered. Has anyone seen a review or comments on the quality?

These have been around for 6 months or so, I created a thread on here way back and the general opinion was, Dayline = GASH 8)

There's no disputing their appearance, i've just heard the dayline products are poor quality. Whether that is true or not i've no idea :) I think they look well though, they're not LED DRL either, the LED 'strip' is the sidelights 8)

Also i think Volkswagen and also other car manufacturers should look at internet forums and see what people are changing on their cars, And then they could bring out a quality alternative to some sketchy aftermarket stuff, But don't pull our pants down and slap our rump with stupid prices for naff looking LED DRL lights near the fog lights, you should of incorperated into the headlights. Come on vw wake up and take a look around!

What incentive have VW got to make a cheap alternative to an £800 option?

The dayline ones are not the same as they don't have the angel eyes and are not HID. Are these chinese ones for RHD and e marked?

Volkswagen must have a shelf full of this type of headlight thinking everyone would go for them! and for some reason was only available as an option on SEL and GTI. If they brought the price down abit more people would probably go for them.
