It is used to further explore the control units. Necessary to have previous knowledge.
Never use it to flash units without the correct files for VCP.
Useful for flashing and loading the dataset (parameterization).👌

For fast coding the VCDS is better. (also OBD11, etc)👌

ODIS-E/ODIS-S/VAS5054A is for everything and what you should have.

yesterday. i cant go into reverse. i got grinding sound instead and it wont move. The dsg gear indicator in MFA not even blinking. So i’m suspecting the gear selector arm must be broken or something. Going to send workshop on Monday and change the clutch too.

Hi Amir.
Good luck with those repairs, it's definitely worth it.👍

Tip for the immediate future: If you are thinking of buying a car and you like to continue making modifications as a hobby, try to get a G7.5 or one of MQB platform. You will like it and we will have fun a few more years.

Thanks ciclo. Yes. it is worth it. Last time, when people talk about how worrying the dsg reliability, i did plan to convert it to 6 speed manual. But, now i think, i have no issue to get it repair because for me the DSG is still a good box.

On the next potential, I’m not sure i have any plan yet as the pandemic uncertainty still there. Plus, after all these years knowing how a specific system/feature worth and how hard to get it retrofitted, I’m not that keen to get new VW that are being offer here right now. We are unfortunate that over here, we dont have option to tick our own optional item when buying new car. It is what it is as what the dealer offer). To get G7.5 is infact interesting. but having 2 hatchbacks are not really a good idea)[emoji2957]

The hard thing in the retrofits for MQB will lie in a first investment of approximately 50 euros (Aliexpress) and then the costs of the retrofit.
The rest is in the hands of your friends.

For a good listener, with a few words is enough.

Hello everybody, btw i got back my polo last week, after 2 days repair which basically overhaul and new clutch replacement. It was the fault of slider bearing for gear selector fork 6/R, which as suggested by vw, they replaced with teflon type slider bearing, the same as the other forks.

In the meantime, I got to play with unlock Composition Media and the coding/adaptation for that unit alone is really too many as compared to my experiences before.
Image
Since my 2012 hex can vcds wont be able to support coding all these, I have to use ODIS E to get into Adaptations n more coding information. But still i’m not able to code the Polo image. Is there anyone here know exactly the code for Polo ? or it is just software dependent and there’s no Polo image inside?

*Now i can here my RVC being pushed out while reverse, but of coz, there’s no image[emoji2957]

Hello Amer!
AFAIK there is no Polo image. Even after extensive search and playing around with 5F adaptation channels and coding I couldn't find out Polo image.

For reverse camera display with overlapping ops display you must enable following adaptation channel of 5F:

ENG122229-ENG117712-car_function_list_BAP_Gen2- VPS_0x0B

And also OPS display has to be set to Automatic in address 10.

Namaste🙏

Great. thanks brother. I suspect the same thing on Polo image. So i guess Polo 6C is not part of PQ Composition Media Software then. May I know what code you put in 5F? If u can share the LC of yours.

Another things:
1) can we enable the yellow curves on top of pdc based on steering input?
2) is there anyway to allow 5F to change to Phone Screen when i press phone button on the steering?

Btw, thank you for the VPS input. I heard before that we need to change to MQB pdc module to allow overlapping. Its good to know that although i have not install any camera yet. I look forward to install Highline camera. but seems like the part price is so big and normal yellow connector low camera is just so cheap[emoji23]. Will see how.

Mine is Discover media, my 5F long coding won't help you much.

Yellow curves can be enabled, but they will not work(remain straight and won't turn based on steering input) on our polo PQ25.

Pressing Phone button on steering wheel activates voice command on Mib2, I don't know if it's possible to change to phone screen.

Must install lowline/ aftermarket reverse camera to work on Mib2 with PQ platform. Highline camera doesn't work.

MQB PDC module is not mandatory for simultaneous camera+ ops display to work. PQ 8k ops module will also work perfectly on Mib2.

Amir, I recommend you the WinMerge program to compare files, it will be very useful for your changes in adaptation channels.
Also read/create and restore the adpmap/adphex files with VCDS.
