No worries Alex, it was perfect to make a joke to Michel.
Michel, I was kidding, you know a lot of people confuse us, which I think is perfect.

Re: VCDS clone - file .rod not found with almost all versions
Hello Folks,
I have a clone 17.8, after running the VCDS 17.7 software on laptop it says port status ok, interface found, not connected to the car (Attached the screenshot below) some help would be much appreciated
Once the cable did work after running the test (it said status ready K1:OK K2:OK CAN:OK) but this happened just once after that I keep getting the same error port status ok, interface found, not connected to the car, is there a way to make this cable work?
I did a little research on this issue and found some kind of electrical work is needed in order to make this cable work, is this true? and if yes has anyone succeeded?

Why not use your money to buy a genuine licensed cable and you would be able to get the use out of it and support for your product, and even help, when required from people that had bought a genuine VCDS license?

Have you pugged the cable in, and then installed the VCDS software?

These copy cables are often junk quality too and can die after a single connection. As RUM says, genuine is best
Even a VCDS lite cable and license is not that expensive.
