Hi, could someone post the workshop procedure for Outer CV joint, what socket is needed 36 ?
Im planning on doing both sides and I want to make it as factory as possible.

Yes 36mm 12 pointed or bi-hex, this socket needs to have quite a thin wall thickness due to the recess diameter in the front hubs.

Did mine today, 36 mm thin wall socket for axle bolt, 16 mm spanner to hold bolts for ballj oint, and 16 mm socket for ball joint. Use ceramic grease and grease all threds. Its pretty simple.

Also use 500mm or longer breaker bar, also your toqrue erench can do it also.
If working with hand tools, hammer the 16 mm socket on ball joint nuts to avoid stripping.

36 mm 50Nm+45° by VW workshop manual.
