I have attached pics of my engine.
I've lurked on here a while and hopefully someone can help me
My car is a 2015 bluemotion, the stop start has also decided not to work at the same time so unsure if related

Re: P0101 issue
Are you sure it's a MAF sensor and not a MAP?
MAP senor is located on left hand side of inlet manifold. Just behind and above back end of the alternator. You can see it on your 3rd image.

Sorry I've nothing set up to host images or I'd highlight it for you.Josh1991lfc wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 7:45 pmhi mate just with p0101 a mechanic i know said it shows as the maf when he scanned it for me, could u let me know where on that third pic, im not the handiest under the bonnet (i know the alternator only though a previous cars one dying on me on a dual carriageway!)

But as best as I can describe. On the 3rd image look at the alternator. Just slightly above and behind it you can see a connector with the wires showing at the front and feeding into a small harness. That's the MAP sensor. it's attached to the inlet manifold (Plastic part to the right)
Can't suss out how to embed Youtube video's, but here's a link showing it's location.

If you're not too clued up I'd see if you can find a mate who is. If you break the clips getting it out you're knackered. May not be the MAP, but at least you know where it is now.

Did it clear P0101?? Do you have a check engine/MIL light illuminated?Josh1991lfc wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 9:59 am hi mate, tried this, cleaned it out but it did look spotless to be fair, now im getting a p0102 and a p0202 - strange as car is driving fine. it also has U0416 above both the error codes
Well I've just looked up P0102
Possible Symptoms
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
Loss of Power
Possible Causes
Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF/G70) faulty
Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF/G70) faulty
Possible Solutions
Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF/G70)
Check/Replace Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF/G70)
P0202 appears to be related Injector No 2????
U0416 is an invalid data
It's garage time or a mate with decent scanner for a full scan and a clear of DTC's bud. Do you have a VW indie garage near or a garage you'd trust?
I'm just guessing at this point.
1. Could be the MAP is faulty
2. You may have inadvertently damaged the MAP if you cleaned it.
3. It's not plugged in correctly, after cleaning?
4. None of the above. MAP error is a red herring.
Sorry couldn't be of any more help. It's tricky at the end of a keyboard.

Re: P0101 issue
No one around here that I'd trust to be fair, which is a shame, weirdly the map sensor didn't even have screws keeping it in which was strange
The only code showing now is the p0101

Re: P0101 issue
I think some of those codes where associated with the sensor being disconnected while you cleaned it. I have a couple of MAP sensors on mine, one has screws the other none, just the clip. Odd, but that's Vdub for you. Did you price up a replacement sensor?Josh1991lfc wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 1:29 pm No one around here that I'd trust to be fair, which is a shame, weirdly the map sensor didn't even have screws keeping it in which was strange
