Got this gem a few weeks ago. My uncle's car for 30 years. Have loads of spare parts for it but lots of welding still neeeded. Should be a beast when it's finished 8)

1972 BMW 3.0 CSI 3.0 6 cylinder.

Oh wow, what a project! Will be following this with interest! Will you be going for the batmobile look at the end?

Thanks guys, No don't want to try to make it something it's not, as only the CSLs came as a batmobile version. I'll just be putting a CSL chin spoiler on and some period Alpinas i think.

I've signed up on the E9 forum..... they're all old American and scary... :(

Any news on the restoration?

We have a Polo and l recently bought a 2002 BMW Z3 3.0.
These are available for no money, although you need £6k for a good/low mileage one.

Parts availability from BMW is exceptional. Everything is still available, despite the car being out of production for 12 years.
The only part l have been unable to get is front mud flaps!
