I've got a 1999 1.0 Polo... and its gone barking made!!!

First I'm driving along at 50 and the speedo goes up to 90... then back down to 0... then back up to 50 (all at the same approximate speed) Then the flashing lights, oil temp, handbrake!!!

It's the handbrake that is still the problem, everytime I take the handbrake off, it thinks i've left it on, the light flashes and and the car beeps. And it won't bloody stop! Any ideas? I want to sell it but I cant take people out in that. Oh and I've already disconnected the handbrake switch it made "F" all difference.

I'd really appreaciate any help at all.

Youll need a new handbrake switch.

Also yours is a MK4 not a mk3.

As for the speedo and that, it sounds like you have a bad ground for the instruments.
