So it'll be cheaper to stay on a provisional?
Oh yeah, these days some insurance companies are offering No Claims Bonuses on 2ndary named drivers, so that may be something to look at.

Just stay on the provisional! LOL
Umm... I think Norwich Union or Direct Line.
What you'd do is probably have your mum/dad as a first driver on your car, and insure you as a 2nd driver.
And you both build up no claims.... I think

Oh, talking of no claims, I dont know much about new licenses and the limited points for the first few months/years business, but it REALLY isn't worth getting caught speeding.
I was really stupid when I first got my car, and was stupidly trying to hit my top speed
NOT a good idea, cos it means being at excessive speed for a very long time and hence exposed to be caught
I'm ok with the £60 fine, but 3pts on your license really ups your insurance... and not just for one year... but 4-5yrs of increased premiums really f's up your pocket!
