ENGINE CHANGING HELP.....
hi I have a 1.6 gti with a AVY engine and unfortunately have blown the engine. I have a donor car arriving this weekend (am not sure 100%) yet if its the same engine code, but....if it is, can I do a straight engine change.....ISSUE is I don't have the key for the donor car, its an MOT failure on other parts, but old owner has lost the key for it! will my ECU plug straight into it etc - if it is the same engine code as the previous engine? or m I can have major issues as I don't have the ignition key for it....any help before I start my weekend of changing it over would be gratefully appreciated!

Yes, should plug straight in
Do a straight swap minus electrical components such as immobiliser and ECU
