Polo 1.6 gti cylinder head

Has anyone any knowledge on fitting the gti head to the 73bhp 1.4 lump. Many thanks.

It's not advisable. The power gains aren't worth it as the displacement will be off

It's better to use an entire GTI lump or just go buy a GTI

The 1.4 75bhp and 1.6 125bhp lumps also have a fair few mechanical differences. VVT for a start which the 1.4 loom and ECU isn't wired for

That's great thanks for the heads up, it was a cheap stop gap for the lady so won't be spending much on it, just playing. Do you know if the 1.8t throttle body fits with a ecu tweak, looks similar in pics of them iv seen.
Used to tweek Honda lumps with good results, it's a shame these engines don't play along!
