FEBI 19518 Front Anti Roll Bar Link Rod

Post by littlepolo »

Is this the correct link rod (at 270mm) for the Polo 9n (2002)?

I bought a couple for a late 2009 SEAT Ibiza which I'd reckon is the same link as the 9N Polo uses, and it is 270mm it is a TRW part from ECP and is TRW JTS393.

Now the application listing on the box is for VW(SVW) POLO 12/10 - , VW FOX(5Z1 5Z3) 10/03 - , SKODA(SVW) FABIA 12/08 - , so I can't really say YES or NO.

The ECP stock number on that box is 650 44 1405 - I'll check to see if both cars "use" the same part on ECP website.

Edit:- okay, I've checked up on ECP and that stock number for that part is now 650 44 1406, and it is the same for both a 2002 VW Polo and a late 2009, ie 2010MY SEAT Ibiza - so if you trust ECP's listings then 270mm with M10 X 1.5 end fittings is good!

Autodoc claims that both what I bought and didn't use, for a late 2009 SEAT Ibiza, ie TRW JTS393 and what you mentioned, ie Febi 19518 are both suitable for at least a 2002 VW Polo.

This is the Febi part. The car is on a stand on the n/s. Does that explain why the rod seems too long and won't fit in?

To make a judgement on that you would need to have both sides either up on stands or both sides down on its wheels - doing it that way would let you see if it fitted into the ARB end without you needing to flex the ARB.

Started to jack of the o/s and the anti roll bar came within reach. Those links must take quite a bashing.
