Hi all
Hope someone can help. My son's 1.2 has developed a mossy, green growth on the back window. It seems to be centred on the space between the rear wiper and the badge. It also seems to exist at the top of the window too. See pictures. Any guidance from you experts on the cause and fix would be helpful. I'm not a car man but perhaps it's a seal?
Many thanks.

Clearly not a car guy lmao
You might want to teach your son to wash the car

Re: 2002 Polo - Damp & Mould Back Window
Just needs a good clean and if that's the back the whole car probably needs it too .
When washing it put a small brush in the wash bucket as well as your normal wash mitt and use that to get in the gaps around the rear window where water likes to sit and the badges.
Used these brushes a few times and find them quite useful.

It would probably be best to jet wash the car first so the bigger clumps don't ruin your wash mitt. If you don't have access to one most petrol stations seem to have one you can use for a few quid. After that, if the car soap itself doesn't shift the moss/algae then try spraying it with an all-purpose cleaner and let it sit for a few minutes (don't let it dry) then rinse and wash with car soap again.
Bilt Hamber Surfex HD is a very good all-purpose cleaner but needs to be diluted so you'll need an empty spray bottle to dilute it in.

Hope that helps
