n/s headlamp cluster moved

Post by littlepolo »

It looks like somebody might have shunted my front n/s while I was parked in a public car park. The headlamp cluster appears to have moved rearwards. It does not seem loose. Compared to the o/s you can see a gap (ignore the dust - I'm tidying the paintwork). Any ideas if something might have broken (e.g. adjuster gears/screw) and any possibility to fix?

I have removed the front bumper and the headlamp assy which is held in a cradle and retained by 3x screws. No obvious indications if/how the headlamp moved. The top most retaining screw has a small range of adjustment fore/aft but I cannot figure how the headlamp/front wing alignment is off. Will have another look in the daylight today at the cradle.

Possibly. Checking the headlamp position against the front o/s panel (above bumper) does show some variance against n/s. Will only know for sure after putting it back together after painting.
